GIN POLE NEWS

LMS Gin Pole News about manufacturing, servicing, inspections, and repairs. We have been the primary source for these services for all Americas since 2011. We manufacture the finest Gin Poles worldwide with a 100% safety rating; LMS Gin Poles are manufactured with steel or aluminum in all sizes. Custom models build for elevator transport for rooftop antennas and towers. Poles are made of round poles, (GP) triangle poles, (PT), and square poles with jump tracks (PS). Our poles are Electrostatic coated for long life, ease of handling, and safety. You can also find Landa Mobile Systems towers HERE. You can also find other LMS news HERE

2023 we updated GP 30 load charts with tilted and 20′ or 10′ loading charts

2023 Updated Pole charts with some extra tilted and lift numbers. Check your new charts when having your poles recertified.

2022 starts with many getting their Gin-Poles serviced and inspected for upcoming projects. It’s good to see so many activities with the new year, and we wish all a safe and prosperous new year from Landa Mobile Systems.

In 2021, the LMS PS 18 Gin-Pole was setting record sales as this pole can easily place the new AT&T antenna array weighing in at over 2400 lbs for the G5. It’s equipped with a jump track, as all the square poles are. PS stands for square pole. And PT stands for triangle pole.

220px-Skull_and_crossbones_svg Load carts are not interchangeable with identical model numbers as older models. There are differences, and New Load Charts supplied are pole specific and have an expiration date.

Gin Pole Inspection forms 2020,  for outside inspection, are available for all LMS pole users to be compliant with current laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain the operator’s safety. Gin pole inspection form.

Introducing our new LMS PT 12 HD Gin Pole

This 12″ face gin pole has the extra lift and safety capacity combined to give you the confidence and assurance these units will get the job done. Load charts speak for themselves. This pole has a dual purpose with the flexibility of converting to an SA swing arm head or standard HD head for those larger lifts. Poles are required to be inspected annually, and new load charts are issued for each pole. All parts are serial numbered for uniformity and assurance you are working with the official OEM Landa Mobile Systems part.

Introducing our new LMS PT 12 SA Gin Pole

A pole that makes antenna and mount change-outs a breeze, with a thrust bearing you can turn with two fingers. This pole has impressive strength with a 4″ reach arm for swinging mounts into place or an optional head without a swing arm when utilized, uses a different load chart, and has tremendous lift capacity. All poles have the option of adding a jump track feature. There are also optional size sheaves available for various uses.

2020 Landa introduced a new sheave pin upgrade for the LMS PT 18 GinPole. The double sheave pins will be the same as on the PT 21 GinPole, and they all have a three-year time life assigned to them for replacement and the safety of operations.

Landa Sheave Pin being Fabricated

Pole Sheaves pins are time-life components with a three-year life. OEM parts must be replaced with serialized matching numbers. LMS Directive 09292019-01

Pole Sheaves are time-life components with a 9-year life. OEM parts must be replaced every nine years with serialized matching numbers. LMS Directive 09292019-02

For ease of inspection, use the attached form. Checks and engineering evaluation can be performed according to Cite: TIA-322 Annex C: by ANSI/ASSE A10.48

We store copies of all records from day one of manufacture in the cloud, and replacement documents are available for the pole’s life. Sold a pole, let us know; we track owners and serial numbers for many reasons, including theft. Thieves can never get the pole recertified and new load charts without a bill of sale.

Landa introduces its new 5G Gin-Pole, the LMS PT12 SA. The SA stands for swing arm that can transition a load change out quickly and safely, with the assurance that the Landa quality will be the best tool for the job.

As our new LMS PT12 SA Gin-pole makes its first show to the public, we look forward to more opportunities to satisfy the 5G rollout providing the safest and most practical tool to facilitate this transition. Thanks to all our supporters and Ericsson and T-Mobiles’ motivation to tackle this market. This finished head is heading to galvanizing for its complete metalized finish.
The zinc coating can be sealed with a thin coating of low-viscosity polyurethane, epoxy-phenolic, epoxy, or vinyl resin. The application sequence and procedure details are in ANSI/AWS C2.18-93.

Landa introduces a lightweight certified Rooster Head Gin Pole, which Ericsson requested for use on headwork.

The industry has not had a legally certified gin pole available to fill the light load work, just as deadly as the large lifts. We at Landa took the task and developed this model for those 250lb light lifts. We are proud to be the innovators in the industry presenting such quality items in a vast and growing market. LMS 2 Inch Pipe Rooster Head Model: LMS GP PRH Gin Pole allows operators to operate legally with the confidence of using an approved, engineered, and certified pole. Charts and certifications are retained for the lifetime of the pole.

  • Hoists DAS/LTE antennas up the tower into position for a quick and safe installation
  • Slides into standard 2″ pipe mount
  • Max 250 lbs lift load capacity
  • 4″ sheave with sealed bearings
  • Use with 1/2″ synthetic diameter rope or 3/8″ diameter wire rope
  • Solid steel construction, hot-dipped galvanized finish
  • Serially numbered and registered TIA 322 compliance
  • Made in the USA by an SDVOSB company building the world’s best and safest gin poles.
  • Gin Poles are registered and certified, with charts available for registered owners only.

Repack begins, and the poles are coming out to fill the void since most earlier production poles miss the mark with the original product documentation now required to be certified. I am sure folks will try to buy, but the fines are steep.

As the repack begins and the demand for legal gin poles begins the saga. This pole is heading out to new owners GTI America Inc out of Buffalo, NY. They are working on a 900′ antenna tower in Claremore, Ok, then heading up onto a 1600′ tower in LA. This is our LMS PS24 jump track square gin pole for those large tower projects. We have them larger as well to fill your needs for any lift.

Tariff Updates: July 16, 2018, Dear Valued Customers

As many of you know, the United States and China have been in a trade dispute resulting in a 25% tariff on certain products from China, effective July 6, 2018. While the situation continues, we work closely with our manufacturer partners to identify the affected products. To see a current list of the HTS codes affected by the tariff, please reference the list from United States Trade Relations here. Unfortunately, due to the increases being passed on to Landa Mobile Systems LLC, prices on many of our products will be increased to reflect the additional charges related to the tariffs. We will only increase the price of products in instances where the increases have been incurred. We will include the cost of the taxes in the unit price when applicable. This is a very fluid situation. We have heard from a limited number of manufacturers and expect to hear from more in the coming weeks. https://ustr.gov/…/enforcement…/301Investigations/List%201.pdf…

“I’ve been a climber for 31 years and stacked towers for nine years. I’ve worked with dozens of styles and sizes of poles, and yours, by far, was the most sturdy and well-constructed. When inspecting it after one year of use, it had no defects to be found. I couldn’t even find a crack in the galvanizing, let alone any deformed members. It is one WELL BUILT tool.”

LANDA MOBILE SYSTEMS LLC  Lightest Gin Pole

Our LMS GPA20-GinPole is our lightest pole and a one-hand carry. This pole is great for remote location work or tower head work applications. At Landa, we have your safety in mind, and our poles are constructed for many years of service and reliability. Many items built these days are life tested and built to fail in a certain time frame. Normally not made in the USA. Our units are built to last a lifetime under normal operating.

As springs pickup up the momentum, our Gin Poles are heading out the door.

Gin Poles are becoming a part of many companies inventory. Tools that will provide years of safe installs. We appreciate the business as Landa Gin Poles have become a common name for quality in the tower industry.

LANDA MOBILE SYSTEMS, LLC has been a member of Nate for many years.

Here we are delivering another LMS PS18 Gin Pole for the upcoming projects our client has contracted in PA. The PS18 is one of many gin poles we build for heavier picks, and we go up substantially from there. We pride our company’s ability to construct the only Gin Poles in the Americas and have had zero accident history. Please work safely.

LANDA is putting out gin poles replacing all the poles missing the mark for the new regulations

Our popular LMS GP 30 allows workers the option of a 30′ Gin Pole or a 20′, both with roller tail and rooster head. Excellent pole for head work and change-outs.

Our LMS PT 12 Gin Pole comes in 20′ sections and 10′ sections up to 78′ and is a great pole for medium-duty work; see web site for chart information to see if this beauty meets your needs. When it comes to reliability and putting lives at risk relying on a Landa Gin Pole with a zero accident history is the pole for your peace of mind.

    GIN POLE MYTH IN DESIGN

While having an extra steel plate welded to them for jump track use, Gin Poles do not increase the weight lift capability of the pole since the plates are welded on the back of the pole. The compression on the pole’s front (or outside legs) has no additional support and is the most critical of the unit in design.

LMS GP 20 HC Gin Pole

3-section slip joint for Hand Carry transport, GP20 HC POLE IS 20′ LONG  Pole is excellent for taking up in an elevator or carrying into remote areas.

We have been receiving requests for parts on gin poles that do not meet industry standards, and we will not offer support for other poles not having the required documentation.

NEVER RENT A GIN POLE OR WINCH; REASONS WHY.

Make sure if you rent a pole; it’s just had an inspection and a mag particle check to protect your company and crew from hidden defects from prior rentals. Renting a pole is like borrowing someone’s toothbrush; you don’t know what you are getting. We have heard of companies sticking their necks out there to provide rentals of these critical items. Use extreme caution and ensure you have all the documentation needed on-site. Ask us, and we can advise what you need. We do not rent those above.

GIN POLE FAX is a newly offered service for customers

We are offering to allow the pole owners to give a serial number of a pole and obtain a history and copies of all inspections and build certificates. We track gin pole ownership, and in case of theft, you are protected; we will not provide docs.

Gin Pole operators must use extreme caution when planning and using a gin pole.

When holding on is critical, the finish is there for your safety and longevity in the field, affording the operator years of maintenance-free operations. Load charts on all gin poles are good for one year only and renewable annually with confirmation of re-certification. Pole manufacturing documentation is stored in the cloud for retrieval years down the road and tied to the serial number for life.

CODE ELECTRICAL, LLC IS GETTING THE JOB DONE WITH THE LMS PT12 GIN POLE.

As the crew makes short order of putting the top of this tower antenna array together with the PT12 with the metalized surface, ease of handling makes the day much more profitable for the operator vs. crane.

Canadian company and repeat gin pole owner praises Landa

Chris Martin, a buyer with  www.codeelectricalinc.com, said, “It was a pleasure meeting you over the telephone today. Further to our conversation, I was introduced to Landa through some current trusted vendors. I looked them up online & did a little digging. I found him and his production team extremely professional when I contacted Mike Landa. He was able to give me a reasonable timeline for the products we needed and then actually reduced the timeline by two weeks and was able to turn my product around in a week.   We will use Landa in the future and are happy to recommend them as a reputable vendor. “
Canadian Hydro Electric to bring back the gin poles

Daniel Gagnon P.Eng., Ph.D. with Hydro Quebec, is bringing the Gin Pole into power line transmission tower work. Mr. Daniel Gagnon States, “We need to reintroduce the use of the gin pole technique in our power-line construction division. We used it 25 years ago but had switched to crane operation. Do you know of power-line construction companies in the US and Canada that use the gin pole to build power lines? Also, is any organization in the US or Canada that trains linemen specifically for this technique ?” We welcome them to the Landa Gin Pole family and introduce them to LMS Safety for training and a few of our operators in the industry.

We look forward to working with Canada to introduce our gin poles into their power program, saving them thousands of dollars in deployment costs while maintaining our safety standards and our products’ history without an accident.

The new pole for the Repack of the LMS PS20 is a monster.

Look at the specs for the pick, and we will manufacture one with 7′ section lengths to fit in an elevator for the high building servicing.   The pole will also come in 10′ and 20′ sections for easy operation and flexibility.

Gin pole load charts effective this date will have an expiration date matching the pole certification inspection date.

Poles manufactured before ANSI/TIA-322 need new Re-certification, inspection, and load charts.
